    What is açai?

    Açai (pronoucned ah-sigh-ee) is a small, dark purple berry that grows on the açai palm tree in the Amazon rainforest.

    Health benefits

    Açai s loaded with anthocyanins, the same pigments that give blueberries their color, but at 3–5 times the concentration. These help neutralize free radicals in the body.

    Unlike most fruits, açai has omega-3, -6, and -9 fatty acids—the good fats more common in nuts and fish.
