The rovers can last between 40-90km depending on elevation gain, weight & height of the rider, and the level of pedal assist is being used.

See the optional add-on accessories during Step 3 of our booking page. We have child carrier that is designed and tested for children from 9 months* to 3 years old, up to 33 lbs/15 kg.(*Consult a paediatrician for children under 1 year old).

The Dirodi Rover is a regular e-bike. You don’t need a driver’s license to operate it but need to obey the New Zealand cycling code. Please bring a form of ID to confirm age and name.

At Hikomoto we want to ensure safety and make sure our bikes last. Riding double can be fun, but its hard on the motor and battery. Only two riders are permitted if one rider is under 16 years old.

The bike will need to be locked at all times if left unattended. It is your responsibility to make sure this is done to decrease the likelihood of theft. All of our bikes are GPS tracked with Follo Trackers NZ so please notify us immediately in the case of theft. Please see our terms and conditions page for more information.

The booking will hold a $250 deposit on your card in case of any significant damages are done to bike during the rental period. Please see our terms and conditions page for more information. If you are seeking full coverage, please add our optional Hikomoto Damage & Theft Cover or alternatively ensure you’re covered under travel insurance.

Our delivery & collect service offers ebike hire to Matarangi, Kuatunu, Whitianga, Cooks Beach, Coroglen, Hahei, Hot Water Beach and Tairua. Choose delivery when checking out and enter address to see if you fall in our service area.

The bike comes with a rear luggage carrier, a helmet, a phone mount, and a lock. Optional add-ons include surfboard rack and/or a child seat.
